Current Sensors

Current sensors are an important part of magnetic field sensor technology. Electric currents always generate a magnetic field in their environment and by measuring this field strength, the current strength is determined in current sensors without interfering with the current. The current can be conducted outside the sensor housing, which allows very high current values and also results in good insulation features. For smaller currents, current paths within the current sensor are also possible, which enables a high resolution and very low minimum currents (in the lower mA range). In many cases, TMR technology is used as sensor technology, as this is very sensitive and can therefore also detect the fields of small currents. However, Hall and fluxgate technologies are also used in current sensor technology. Our residual current sensors, which can reliably measure both AC and DC residual currents, are also based on these technologies.
