The revision of the EU Battery Directive includes a ban on mercury in batteries and Maxell was required to develop silver oxide cells without anti-corrosives such as mercury or lead. Today, Maxell is proud to print the 'HG 0%' registered logo on all 38 models of "longlife" watch button cells manufactured in Japan, which can power most watch models available worldwide.
